In today’s time, the distractions intended to disrupt God’s divine plan for our lives, are at all time high. Everyday we’re either dodging the “enemy’s” darts or discovering the depth of the “inner me’s” ditches. No matter the momentary battle we experience in life, one thing remains true; if success is desired, then discipline is required. Yes, discipline: the practice of teaching and training one to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience. In essence, our ability to determine what’s right is based on our understanding of what’s wrong.
Now with this acute awareness of discipline, how do believers double down on its development and put it into practice? This great question actually has a good answer, keep reading. We double down by digging deep and devoting ourselves to God. We buckle down in hard times to go harder, not to go home. We pray, press and praise through our pain, knowing that tests and trials only come to make us strong. We stand firm on God’s power, rest in his presence and trust our risky faith to lead to a favorable reward. Simply put, we dare to double down.
After understanding what doubling down on discipline is and how to effectively do it, let’s talk about why it’s important. Proverbs 5:23 reads, “He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness.” Indicating to us that a failure to establish discipline is without doubt, a detriment to our livelihood. Discipline is an indicator of obedience to God, influenced by consequences. Believers do not desire for their souls to perish, rather for them to prosper. The only way to do that is by getting and staying in alignment with God. We must hear his voice, heed his call and hide his word in our hearts if we want a fighting chance at victory.
There’s no question, life will bring tests and trials, peaks and valleys that seem to darken our days; yet God uses it all to build spiritual muscle while strengthening us to endure. He ensures we are well equipped to confidently carry out his purpose. Therefore, we can commit to God’s strategy of discipline and obedience despite the challenges of our life’s course. It’s been proven that life’s a gamble but it’s a promise that discipline leads to destiny. So be sure to double down on your discipline and be assured that God will deal you a winning hand. God Bless.
Happy Healing and God Bless!
